Old Home Town – 100 years ago

From the Lawrence Daily World for June 25, 1907: “Seven persons were hurt and much damage resulted as a tornado roared through Medicine Lodge last night. Lawrence was spared any high winds. : A local dog has been howling all night ever since his master died three months ago and recent surgery has not helped the animal, which seems uninterested in survival. : Two young men, apparently from the university, were on the river in a canoe when winds hit here last night and they capsized. They had difficult swims and needed big help from the likes of river expert Dolly Graeber but they seemed to be all right today.”
