Topeka ? Kansas Lottery executive director Ed Van Petten will have some additional duties this year.

In addition to overseeing the ramp-up of slots at racetracks and casino gambling in Kansas, he will head the Multi-State Lottery Association.

Van Petten was elected president of MUSL’s board of directors for a one-year term starting July 1. MUSL has 31 member lotteries.

Van Petten has been executive director of the Kansas Lottery since 2000.
