A woman riding a bus between St. Louis and Seattle, and bound for a stop in Lawrence, began shooting as the bus pulled into Kansas City and four were wounded. The driver was hit and lost control of the vehicle, causing a crash that involved four other vehicles. So far, none of the injuries seemed life-threatening.

All local waters had topped flood stage due to heavy June rains but no evacuation had been necessary to date for North Lawrence residents.
