Hallmark adjusting work processes

Hallmark Cards Inc. is making changes to some of its internal work processes, and employees in Lawrence and Leavenworth were being briefed on the changes during on-site meetings Tuesday and early this morning.

Julie O’Dell, a Hallmark spokeswoman, said that she would be prepared to discuss the changes early this afternoon, once employees in both cities had been given a chance to learn about them in person.

Lawrence’s Hallmark plant, 101 McDonald Drive, has about 800 employees. The plant makes greeting cards, ribbon, bows and stickers.

Hallmark has about 450 employees at two locations in Leavenworth, making gift wrap and partyware.
