A woman and her young son were listed in fair condition Monday at separate hospitals following a wreck Sunday morning on the South Lawrence Trafficway, which also is Kansas Highway 10.
Willow R. Jack, 26, was a patient at Kansas University Hospital in Kansas City, Kan., said Dennis Minich, spokesman. Her son, 8-year-old Nikee Jack, was at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Mo., a hospital spokesman said.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Willow Jack was driving a Mitsubishi sport utility vehicle west on the trafficway near 27th Street just before noon when it left the road and rolled several times. Willow Jack was ejected from the vehicle.
Haskell Indian Nations University spokeswoman Lori Tapahonso said Monday morning that Willow Jack is a Haskell student. A highway patrol accident report listed the pair's hometown as Fort Hall, Idaho.
