8-year-old in ‘fair’ condition today

Boy injured in accident Sunday morning

An 8-year-old boy was in fair condition this morning at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Mo., where he was taken following an accident Sunday morning on Kansas Highway 10 southwest of Lawrence.

A condition update was not available this morning on his mother, Willow R. Jack, 26, said Dennis Minich, spokesman at the Kansas University Hospital in Kansas City, Kan.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Willow Jack was driving a Mitsubishi sport utility vehicle west on K-10 near 27th street when it rolled several times after leaving the road. Willow Jack was ejected from the vehicle.

Haskell Indian Nations University spokeswoman Lori Tapahonso said this morning that Willow Jack is a Haskell student. A highway patrol accident report listed the pair’s hometown as Fort Hall, Idaho.
