? A soldier named Wayne Rambo was arrested in Goodland, Kan., in an allegedly stolen Humvee while absent without leave from this mountain post.

The private was picked up by military police after his arrest, Sherman County, Kan., Sheriff Kevin Butts said Thursday.

Rambo was initially stopped Tuesday afternoon near Burlington, Colo., by a sheriff’s deputy, but he said he was using the vehicle – which was pulling a trailer – with permission. The Kit Carson County deputy notified Fort Carson and the city of Goodland, 30 miles to the east.

Army commanders, who did not return a call seeking comment, notified Goodland police, who stopped Rambo and arrested him.
