Rebels get plenty early against the Red Sox
After scoring two runs in each of the first three innings, the Kansas Rebels put away the Red Sox with a seven-run fifth to win 13-0 Thursday at 4-H Fields.
Michael Sinks drove in two runs in the fifth when he singled. Jon Saathoff added an RBI single and Casey Hearnen cracked a double to the fence in the big inning. Jake Hensley then knocked in Hearnen with a single.
Sinks tripled and singled in his first two at bats. Hearnen and Hensley both had RBI-doubles in the third.
Scoring chances for the Red Sox were few and far between. Tanner Smith singled in the first, but only a few runners reached base after that. The Red Sox drew two walks in the bottom of the fifth, but failed to rally and get on the board.
