Possibly the only positive the Lawrence Raiders can take from the weekend is that their 2007 American Legion baseball debut will come at home.

For a third consecutive day, the Raiders were unable to start their season due to the wet weekend weather. The field at Longview Community College in Kansas City, Mo., still had standing water Sunday, forcing a cancelation of the Raiders’ scheduled doubleheader.

Lawrence’s next chance: against the Kansas City Barnstormers on Wednesday at Free State High – weather permitting, of course.
