From the Lawrence Daily World for June 3, 1907: "Experts say electric light will not discolor or spoil your walls or ceiling decorations. Even oil paintings will not be affected, we are told. Other methods of lighting can be quite damaging on many levels. : Women are being accepted as telegraph operators in the East and the wages, from $55 to $100 month, may draw many applicants. : Lawrence High School held its 33rd annual commencement last night at the Opera House. Forty-two girls and 23 boys were given their diplomas."
