Allen Press wins in Gold Ink Awards

Allen Press Inc., Lawrence, received eight Gold Ink Awards recognizing the quality of journals and magazines that the company prints.

The awards were given by Publishing Executive and Printing Impressions.

In the scientific and technical category, Allen Press received two silver and two pewter awards for 2006 issues of Hoover Digest.

The Mineralogical Record and IKON – The Mineralogical Record Special Supplement were recognized with bronze awards, while specialty magazines Orchids and Gastronomica garnered pewter awards.

The Gold Ink Awards program, with 50 categories, drew 1,500 entries from printing professionals throughout North America. Entries were judged on print quality, technical difficulty and overall visual effect.
