South Korea ? South Korea said today it plans to withdraw its troops from Afghanistan by the end of this year as scheduled. The announcement came shortly after Taliban militants threatened to kill at least 18 kidnapped South Korean Christians unless Seoul pulled its 200 soldiers out.

“The government is in preparations to implement its plan” to pull its troops out of Afghanistan by the end of this year as scheduled, Foreign Minister Song Min-soon told reporters.
