Bishop Seabury names new head of school

The Board of Trustees at Bishop Seabury Academy has named Don Schawang as the new head of school.

Schawang has been with Bishop Seabury Academy since 2000 and served as director of arts since 2002. He holds a bachelor’s degree in English and creative writing and a master’s degree in American literature, both from Wichita State University, and a doctoral degree in theater and film from Kansas University. In 2005, he received the Distinguished Teacher of the Year award from the Kansas Association of Independent and Religious Schools.

Schawang replaces Chris Carter, former head of school, who resigned last spring.
