4-H and FCE news
The Stull Busy Beavers 4-H Club is getting ready for the Douglas County Fair, and during the past few months the club has participated in regular monthly meetings and many project talks and demonstrations.
A community service project with members of the club and the Perry-Lecompton school district collected items for the pediatric unit at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. Members celebrated 4-H spirit night by wearing green, decorating the church basement in green and white, and eating green snacks. Eight members participated in 4-H camp at Rock Springs.
Bruce Jones, of KSNT Channel 27, visited with the club about tornadoes during an educational tour. A community ice cream social was a big hit in June.
The club shared its 4-H enthusiasm by participating in a parade during Territorial Days in Lecompton. Members put together a float, threw candy, made posters and carried the U.S., Kansas and 4-H flags. Several members followed the float on horses.
The club anxiously awaits the club tour on Sunday. Along with a potluck dinner, members will bring 4-H projects to share.
