The Miss Kansas USA and Miss Kansas Teen USA pageants will return to Lawrence for a second consecutive year.

The pageants will occur simultaneously Dec. 14 to Dec. 16 at the Lied Center on Kansas University's West Campus.

During last year's pageant in December at the Lied Center, Cara Gorges, of Clearwater, won the Miss Kansas USA title, and Jaymie Stokes, a Shawnee Mission West High School student, won the Miss Kansas Teen USA title.

The agency Vanbros and Associates of Overland Park produces the pageants, which are licensed and sanctioned by the Donald Trump Miss Universe Organization.

Yeah. Make sure your little girls learn quickly that they are little more than sex objects to the rest of the world, and should prostitute themselves for the sake of getting anywhere in life.

Beauty Pageants are so extremely sexist that the only supporters are mothers who were rejected themselves for being ugly. They even tell their daughters that they won't love them anymore if they lose. All things like this do is strengthen the glass ceiling.

Ragingbear, you forgot to suggest that eating disorder counselors should be available on-site. I hope they also have an ambulance for the girls who can't quite make it across the stage with their 20 calorie-per-day diet.

I am in favor of having Child Protective Services just walking in and seizing every single child on stage and leaving. Any parent that would put their children through this are unfit for parenting.
