Zito pitches Giants past Cubs

Chicago – With Barry Bonds resting for much of the night, Barry Zito finally did his part. Dave Roberts drew a bases-loaded walk to force in the go-ahead run two batters after Bonds lined out as a pinch-hitter, and Zito won for the first time in seven starts.

Phillies 15, Dodgers 3

Los Angeles – J.D. Durbin breezed to his first major-league victory and had three of Philadelphia’s 26 hits, and Ryan Howard hit a pair of two-run homers.

Astros 4, Nationals 2

Washington – Carlos Lee hit a two-run homer, rookie Hunter Pence added a tiebreaking solo shot, and Roy Oswalt made his first relief appearance in more than a year, helping Houston edge Washington.

Brewers 3, Diamondbacks 2

Milwaukee – Tony Graffanino tied the game with a homer in the fourth, and Corey Hart’s sacrifice fly later in the inning sent Milwaukee past Arizona. It was the fourth straight win for the Brewers, while the Diamondbacks lost their seventh straight on the road.

Marlins 4, Cardinals 0

Miami – Hanley Ramirez drove in three runs, and Rick Vanden Hurk pitched five sharp innings as Florida beat St. Louis.

Rockies 6, Pirates 2

Pittsburgh – Josh Fogg scattered five hits over seven innings as Colorado beat Pittsburgh, handing the Pirates their fifth consecutive loss. Jamey Carroll reached base four times, and Garrett Atkins had three hits for the Rockies, who moved a game over .500 by taking the first two games of their series with Pittsburgh.

Reds 6, Braves 5

Atlanta – In his 20th start of the season, Bronson Arroyo finally found his 2006 All-Star form. Arroyo shut out Atlanta for seven innings, Jeff Keppinger capitalized on a rare start by hitting a two-run double, and Cincinnati held on to beat Atlanta.

Mets 7, Padres 0

San Diego – Orlando Hernandez outpitched All-Star Jake Peavy and outscored San Diego all by himself in leading New York. El Duque and relievers Pedro Feliciano and Guillermo Mota combined on a three-hitter. Hernandez also singled, stole second and scored for the NL East-leading Mets, who won for the fourth time in six games. Carlos Delgado and Paul Lo Duca each had two RBIs.
