Parks and Rec seasons ends

The Parks and Rec summer baseball, softball and t-ball leagues came to an end last week, with the final games taking place at Youth Sports Inc., and Holcom Park.

Despite more than 100 games being rained out, the leagues enjoyed another successful year.

“Season was definitely a challenge this year due to all the rainouts and rescheduled games,” said Lee Ice, Parks and Rec youth sports director. “Overall with the number of girls signed up with the co-sponsorship of the Girls Fast Pitch League and the regular LPRD recreation baseball-softball, participation numbers continued to climb with well over 1,350.”
