Patrick Nichols and Kathie Nichols, both of Lawrence, recently presented a program to the annual meeting of the American Bar Association’s Section on Alternative Dispute Resolution.

With Patrick Nichols’ partner, Larry Rute, they discussed mediation training and gave a separate program on understanding emotion and the difficult personalities in litigation and mediation.

Nichols and Rute, who are attorneys, mediate civil lawsuits, employment relationships and family matters through their firm, Associates in Dispute Resolution LLC, which provides services in Kansas and Missouri. Kathie Nichols is a board-certified family therapist who also mediates family cases.
