The Explosion edges Bobcats in final frame

The Explosion and the Bobcats hit the diamond for an LGFPA game in sweltering heat Sunday at Lawrence High. In the end it seemed both teams’ bats were just as hot as weather as the Explosion came away with a 9-8 victory.

The Bobcats began the game by scoring three runs in the first to gain the early momentum. But the Explosion answered right back in the bottom of the inning and scored four runs to take the lead.

In the second inning, Bobcats’ player Savannah Reeb delivered a hit and drove in a run. She later stole second and came around to score one of three runs in the inning. The Explosion answered again with two runs of their own to tie the score at six.

In the final inning of play, the Bobcats used some good swings to take a two-run lead. But like the previous two innings, the Explosion answered right back, scoring three runs to come away with the victory.
