‘Teddy Roosevelt’ schedules stop in town

Historical interpreter Ted Zalewski, of Cambridge, Mass., will portray Theodore Roosevelt, the 26th president, during a free and public event at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Dole Institute of Politics, 2350 Petefish Drive on Kansas University’s West Campus.

Zalewski combines history and drama and uses largely Roosevelt’s own words to illustrate the former president’s personality and leadership style.

“With Teddy, I thought I could bring all of my interests together and create a marvelous one-man show,” Zalewski said.

Roosevelt was president from 1901 to 1909.

“(Zalewski) has delivered acclaimed performances all across the country, including the White House and the Reagan, Ford and Hoover presidential libraries,” said Dole Institute Director Bill Lacy. “It will be both an educational and fun evening.”
