¢ The Thursday Morning Bridge Club played a Howell movement directed by Chris Lane on June 28. Eldon Herd and Marilyn Martin won first place, followed by Lester Dalton and Elle Patton.

¢ The Friday Afternoon Bridge Club played a stratified Mitchell movement at eight tables directed by Virginia Seaver on June 29. The North-South winners were Mary Fenlon and Lester Dalton, who took at first in A, followed by Harry Shaffer and Lois Clark in second place.

Third place was a tie between Clyde Romer and Kent McCullough, and Phyllis Brownlee and Betty Collier, with the latter pair placing first in B and C. Yvonne Hedges and Chris Lane placed second in B, and Robert Anderson and Betty Spalsbury took second in C.

The East-West winners were led by Shari Krentzel and Debbi Bettinger at first in A, B and C, followed by Jeane Landry and Jolene Andersen at second in A. Shirley Reese and Carol Ball placed third in A and second in B. Mona Bell and Madelyn Jenks placed fourth in A and second in C.

¢ The Monday Evening Bridge Club conducted a North American Pairs qualification event July 2. The game was a stratified Mitchell movement at 12 tables directed by Virginia Seaver. The North-South pairs were led by Dave Piro and Peter Petillo, who placed first in A, followed by Clyde Romer and Steve Phelps at second in A and first in B. Jerry Sloan and Eldon Herd placed third in A and second in B, and Larry Bodle and Kent McCullough finished fourth in A and third in B. Phyllis Brownlee and Judy Bevan placed fifth in A, fourth in B and first in C.

In East-West, John Hickey and James Kelley took first in A and B, followed by Barbara Merriam and Dorothy Netson at second in A and B and first in C. Ed Howard and James Masiliamani were third in A, and Lois Clark and Shirley Reese finished fourth in A and third in B. Jeane Landry and Lynn Hui finished fifth in A and fourth in B, and Ann Thompson and Jolene Andersen took second in C.
