The request came from ELIA president Mark Kaplan. A committee was to study the issue before it went to the City-County Planning Commission.

The City Commission was to consider a request from a local man who wanted permission to let his lawn grass grow taller than 12 inches. The man, Michael Almon, 1311 Prairie, had been cited by city inspectors for violating the city’s weed ordinance because portions of his lawn were higher than the allowed 12 inches.
