The deadline to register for an individual sport in the Sunflower State Games has been extended until 5 p.m. Friday.

Interested athletes may register online at www.sunflowergames.com.

The Sunflower State Games also accepts registrations by mail, fax or in the office at 820 S. Kansas Ave., Topeka.

Topeka will serve as host for the 18th-annual sports festival.

The Sunflower State Games will take place July 13-15 and 20-22 during its sixth year in the Capitol city.

Kansans of all ages and skill levels can participate in the 40 different sports.

Adventure racing, cross country and a kid’s fishing derby join the line-up for new sports offered in the 2007 Games.
