Old Home Town – 100 years ago

From the Lawrence Daily World for July 2, 1907: “The city fathers conducted much business of a routine nature last night but nothing of a major consequence. : At the same time, very little was done at the school board meeting. Several bids for work were considered but no action was taken because they failed to meet the standards of the projects. : Ringling Brothers Circus will be here and those who have attended performances contend it was a magnificent show with many major attractions. : The first session of the Douglas County Normal Institute was held this morning and about 100 were there when the bell rang at 7:30 a.m.”
