From the Lawrence Daily World for Jan. 26, 1907: “The legislature is working to make the state printery much larger so it can handle more promptly the business of the state and the lawmakers. : A local barber and a local woman were arrested in the latter’s room this morning and hauled into police court for ‘cohabitation.’ The girl and man are of age so statutory rape is not to be charged. : Electricity is still a wonder to many but those here who have it in their homes constantly sing its praises for so many reasons. One of the very latest things is the electric griddle. Many are getting one. Convenience seems to be a great factor.
