A man charged with rape and aggravated indecent liberties with a minor has added to his list of charges.

He was charged Tuesday morning with battering Jay D. Decker in Douglas County Jail.

Decker, who was sentenced to life in prison earlier this month for the death of his infant daughter, allegedly was beaten by the man in October at the jail while awaiting trial, according to court records.

The alleged assailant remains at the jail, in part because of sex crime charges stemming from two 2005 cases.
