Mosby powers Bears

? A week of rest did wonders for Bernice Mosby and the Baylor Lady Bears.

After losing its previous Big 12 games against Oklahoma and Texas A&M, No. 13 Baylor regrouped with a 79-70 victory over No. 25 Kansas State on Saturday.

Mosby led the Lady Bears with 29 points and 10 rebounds, while Latara Darrett added 15. Jessica Morrow scored 14 points and Angela Tisdale 12.

“Our two glaring weaknesses in the last loss were free throws and rebounding,” Baylor coach Kim Mulkey said. “We made free throws tonight, and we rebounded.”

After hitting only 16 of 25 free throws in their previous game against Texas A&M, the Lady Bears connected for 90 percent against Kansas State, nailing 27 of 30. The Wildcats went to the free-throw line only 22 times, making 14.

Baylor also outrebounded Kansas State 42-32 and outscored the Wildcats 26-12 in the paint.

No. 7 Oklahoma 82, Colorado 67

Boulder, Colo. – Courtney Paris scored 26 points to lead Oklahoma.

Paris’ twin sister, Ashley, added 12 points for the Sooners.

Jasmina Ilic scored 29 points for Colorado on 7-for-18 shooting.
