Physical play wears down Seahawks

? Seabury Academy’s boys basketball team was unable to stay close with Class 3A Central Heights, eventually falling 55-27 in the West Franklin Tournament.

Max Cannon had nine points and Scott King seven, but Central Heights exploded for 21 second-quarter points after Seabury started the frame with a 5-0 run.

“Physically, we were just outmanned. Matching up on the boards hurt us,” Seabury coach Matthew Downing, Jr., said. “It was 14-11 for a while. But I think that (physicality) just wore us out. By the end of the third quarter, we were drained.”

Seabury will return to familiar Class 1A foes Monday with a game against Kansas School for the Deaf.
