— Freshman Ryan Gutierrez scored 15 points, but the Seabury Academy boys basketball team had trouble putting the ball in the basket Wednesday night in a 60-42 loss to Pomona at the West Franklin Invitational.

The Seahawks (1-6) fell behind, 32-22, at the half, then scored just five points in the third quarter and never recovered.

"We're having the same struggles that we've been having. ... We're just not making open shots," said Seabury coach Matthew Downing Jr. "Rebounding and making open shots would be the big things that are putting us behind the 8-ball."

The loss, on the heels of Tuesday night's 41-37 loss to Williamsburg, leaves the Seahawks 0-2 in the round-robin format heading into today's 5 p.m. game against Central Heights.
