Podcasts feature life in Kansas Territory

A new series of podcasts from the Kansas State Historical Society features readings from original writings about how dangerous it was in 1850s Kansas Territory.

The podcasts were launched Wednesday using collections from the society’s library and archives. Some of the writings are from the famous and not-so-famous, and many of them are about Bleeding Kansas events.

Kansas Memory podcasts will be published on alternate Wednesdays. Subscribers to the podcasts can visit the society’s Web site, www.kshs.org/audiotours. Letters, documents and photographs used in the initial episodes of the podcasts can be viewed online at the Territorial Kansas digital documents repository at www.territorialkansasonline.org.
