Missing sign

To the editor:

On the weekend of Jan. 6, we had the unique opportunity of visiting your lovely town for a girls basketball game in the famous Allen Fieldhouse. WOW, were we impressed. It was like stepping back in time. Touring the campus also was a treat – such beauty. Your town is so neat and pristine, and folks were so friendly. Also, the chamber needs to be commended on the impressive Lawrence City Guide booklet – such a tremendous help with maps in finding surrounding towns to visit, navigating around Lawrence and the historic neighborhoods and returning to the airport in Kansas City.

We did have one event that has us a little upset and wondered if anyone could help. We shopped Massachusetts Street and found a little antique street sign bearing our name and purchased it at the Antique Mall and then went to Milton’s for coffee.

Upon leaving, we left behind our street sign. We have called, and no one has turned it in. If anyone found it and could contact us we would so very much appreciate it. Thank you for the opportunity to share our opinion of your wonderful little city.
