Spokane, Wash. ? Gonzaga University guard Micah Downs has been cleared to play after being sidelined all season by a foot injury, Spokane TV station KHQ reported on Friday. Downs transferred to Gonzaga from Kansas University last season at semester break. He’s not expected to play in a game for at least another week.

Coach Mark Few expects the 6-foot-8 Downs, a McDonald’s All-American out of Kirkland, Wash., to contribute soon.

“It won’t take him long to get in shape,” Few told the Spokesman Review.
