Lawrence police surrounded a Sixth Street hotel about 9:30 Thursday morning and took four individuals into custody.

Lawrence Police Department spokeswoman Kim Murphree said one individual, a Lawrence man, was arrested in connection with a Sunday morning robbery at Hy-Vee, 3504 Clinton Parkway.

According to a police report at the time, a grocery store cashier suffered minor injuries when a robber sprayed her in the face with a substance that may have been pepper spray.

Murphree said the department would be interviewing the individual.

Hotel manager Hansa Bhakta said she rented the room to an individual Wednesday night.

It is interesting how some people's rights are protected, and some people are treated like they have no rights at all! In the very first article printed over a year ago about me, Police made accusations that had me tried and convicted before the muffler on their squad cars had even cooled off from the drive back to the police station!

MMMMMmmmmm But I am just a wrongly accused person that is supposed to be considered innocent until proven guilty thinking outloud...

I'm guessing that since this person was questioned in a robbery, that this person is not a piller of the community anyways.

Why should they publish the names of people who have not been convicted of a crime? Simply because it's public information?

No, this is called RESPONSIBLE JOURNALISM as it's possible the person will be found not guilty and publishing their photo/name now could ruin their lives.

No one is dropping their subscriptions to the J-W because they can't read the names of suspects. That's the dumbest thing I ever heard. Guess what? IT'S NOT THAT IMPORTANT!!!!

What's the name of the man arrested? It is public information!!!

Like usual we'll have to read the Topeka Capital or Kansas City Star to find out because the Lawrence Urinal World won't print it.

You know, maybe you guys at the Lawrence Urinal World ought to do a test run and print all the information given to you by the Jail. I'd bet your subscriptions would jump up dramatically from your current 21000 customers. There are a little over 100,000 people in this county!
