Baldwin girls advance to semis

? The Baldwin High girls basketball team made the most of their only home game this postseason, as the second-seeded Bulldogs knocked off seventh-seeded Lenexa St. James Academy, 52-43, on Tuesday night in the opening round of Class 4A sub-state play in the Tonganoxie bracket.

Complete individual scoring totals were unavailable for the Bulldogs. Baldwin (16-5) advances to play Frontier League rival Eudora at either 5 or 7:45 p.m. Friday at Tonganoxie.

McLouth 42, Horton 38

McLouth – The fourth-seeded Bulldogs overcame a slow start to emerge victorious in their Class 3A sub-state opener in the Atchison Maur Hill bracket.

After giving up 16 points in the first quarter, McLouth did not allow the Chargers to score in double digits in any of the final three quarters.

Lance Lamborn came off the bench to score a team-high 10 points off the bench for the Bulldogs, who advance to play in Friday’s semifinals at Benedictine College in Atchison.
