Go vote

People who care about Lawrence need to show it by voting in today's primary election.

Two years ago, only 16 percent of Lawrence voters went to the polls to vote in the primary election for Lawrence City Commission.

Let’s make sure we do better than that today.

Many important issues are facing Lawrence. They are issues that will affect the city’s long-range health and prosperity as well as the quality of life of every Lawrence resident.

No governmental body has more impact on our day-to-day lives than the City Commission. Voting in this election is, if nothing else, a matter of intense self-interest.

A 16 percent turnout is pathetic. If we care about our home town and its future, there should be nothing more important to do today than going to the polls to register an opinion on who should serve on the next City Commission
