Old Home Town – 100 years ago

From the Lawrence Daily World for Feb. 26, 1907: “Another chapter was opened in the Frank Schneck case when a warrant was served against him by the sheriff of Franklin county charging him with defrauding C.W. Goodwain, a prominent farmer in the neighborhood. This is the third charge that Schneck, the former Lawrence boy, will have to face. Several weeks ago his wife and two small children were found brutally murdered in their Centropolis home. Schneck is a suspect but lack of evidence led to his being free on bond. Now the theory is to hold him in jail until more details can be uncovered.”
