The local Cutler Repaving firm was trying to get the state of Kansas to make more purchases of its equipment, which was bought and used worldwide but was not being bought in Kansas. It amounted to a “buy local” effort by a firm that said its success indicated that more home purchases should be made in the interest of “keeping Kansas dollars in Kansas.”
