From the Lawrence Daily World for Feb. 25, 1907: “When spring thaws the ground and makes it possible for workmen to lay service pipes and install connections, it will be wise for many more of us to equip our homes with natural gas service. There are many good reasons, and safety is a major factor. : The U.S. Supreme Court has dismissed the $10 million suit brought by the state of Kansas against the United States to gain possession for the ‘Katy’ railroad sections of land adjoining the road in southeastern Kansas and the Creek Nation in Indian territory.”
