Cub Scout Pack 3370, chartered to the Deerfield School PTA, conducted its annual Blue and Gold Banquet on Feb. 12 at Plymouth Congregational Church. Eight Webelos were honored with the Arrow of Light Award, the highest achievement in Cub Scouts. They are Alex Houston, Hunter Dedloff, John Bennett, Lucas Werner, Michael Edman, Nick Pippert, Stephen Fulton and Tyler Robbins.

Six of the Webelos – Tyler, Stephen, Nick, Michael, John and Alex – also became Boy Scouts in a bridging ceremony. They were formally received into Troop 55 by Scoutmaster Scott Braden, assisted by Troop 55 Scouts Drew and Jamie Braden.

Adult leaders Rick and Lisa Werner were honored for their volunteer service during the past five years.

¢Cub Scout Pack 3462, chartered to Langston Hughes PTO, conducted its annual Pinewood Derby on Jan. 20 at Langston Hughes School. Tiger Den winners were Adam Ziegler, first; Ethan Perrins, second; and Nick Clancy, third. Wolf Den winners were Matthew Peterson, first; John Peterson, second; and Josh Waisner, third. Bear Den winners were Carter Ruckman, first; Carson Ziegler, second; and Steele Jacobs, third. Webelos I winners were Jack Ziegler, first; Trevor Hughes, second; and Matthew Pribbenow, third. Webelos II winners were Dakota Zinn, first; AJ Ware, second; and Diamond Brockway, third. The consolation winner was Zach Denny.

Overall trophy winners of the pack championship were Adam Ziegler, first; Carter Ruckman, second; Carson Ziegler, third; Jack Ziegler, fourth; Matthew Peterson, fifth; and Joseph Cary, sixth.

Winners of the family open class were Jack Ziegler, first; Carson Ziegler, second; and Patricia Peterson, third.

Scouts winning special awards were Christopher Toalson, Best in Show; Dakota Zinn, Best Scout Theme; Kyle Abrahamson, Scout Leadership; and Michael “Vail” Moshiri, Scouts’ Choice.

¢Cub Scout Pack 3057, chartered to the St. John School PTO, conducted its annual Pinewood Derby on Jan. 13 at the church’s social hall. Tiger Den winners were Stephen Cory, first; Jacob Lashley, second; and George Haff IV, third. Wolf Den winners were John Anderson, first; Andrew Bireta, second; and Isaac McCracken, third. Bear Den winners were Aidan Schaplowsky, first; KJ Lashley, second; and Gabriel Magee, third. First Year Webelos winners were Jack Powell, first; Eric Glogau, second; and George Depenbusch, third. Second Year Webelos winners were Luke Oberrieder, first; Clayton Pfeifer, second; and Jakob Walter, third.

John Anderson came in first in the pack-wide race. Open class winners were Ethan Anderson, first; Hannah Walter, second; and Jack Pfeifer, third. The Scouts’ Choice for the “coolest” car went to Colton Sommer, Tigers; Isaac McCracken, Wolf; KJ Lashley, Bear; Elias Schneck, Webelos I; Jakob Walter, Webelos II; and Nora Murphy, Open Class.

People’s Choice Awards went to Stephen Cory, Tiger; Mark Smith, Wolf; KJ Lashley, Bear; Elias Schneck, Webelos I; Jakob Walter, Webelos II; and the Pfeifer family, Open Class.
