Oscar Mayer chicken breast, cuts recalled

Kraft Foods Inc. on Friday recalled all packages of Oscar Mayer/Louis Rich chicken breast strips and cuts, expanding the scope of a Sunday recall.

The initial recall came from a Kraft supplier after Georgia Department of Agriculture food scientists found Listeria monocytogenes in a sample. That type of contamination can cause listeriosis, which is uncommon but potentially fatal.

Kraft has received no reports of illness connected with the products, but all varieties of Oscar Mayer/Louis Rich Chicken Breast Strips and Cuts are being removed nationwide. For more information call Kraft’s consumer hotline, (800) 308-1841.
