The Pilot Club’s Antique Show and Sale is set for March 2-4 at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds, 2110 Harper St. More than 25 dealers will be featured at the show, which runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. March 2-3 and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 4. Admission is $3 a person. Proceeds will benefit community projects such as the Head Injury Support Group, ECKAN, Health Care Access and the Ballard Center.

¢University Bridge Club announces results of its Feb. 17 meeting. Hosts were Walt and Jo Hicks with Paul and Carolyn Jordan. Blue winners were Ray Ikenberry, first; Marc Kuepker, second; Virginia Williams, third; Willie Stoltenberg, fourth; and Dale Kring, fifth. Pink winners were Wanda Kring, first; Bebe Huxtable, second; Donna Gatts, third; Donna Riehm, fourth; and Lois Liebert, fifth.

¢The Wednesday Afternoon Bridge Club played a Club Championship Game on Feb. 14. Nine tables played a stratified Mitchell movement directed by Chris Lane. Ed Howard and Vince Russo won first in A playing North-South, followed by Jane Holliman and Mary Joyce who won second in A and first in B and C. Eldon Herd and Harry Shaffer won third in A. Janice Hollowell and Grant Sutton won second in B and C, followed by Elle and Bobby Patton who won third in both strata.

Dave Piro and Paul Heitzman led the East-West pairs, winning first in A. Yvonne and Chuck Hedges won second in A and first in B. Mona Bell and Carol Ball won third in A, second in B and first in C, and Bebe Huxtable and Carol Smith won third in B and second in C.

¢The Jayhawk Sectional Tournament was conducted at the Lawrence Holidome on Feb. 16-18. The tournament drew several hundred bridge players from across the Midwest, and a number of local players fared well.

In the Friday afternoon pairs game, James Masilamani and Amit Chakrabarti won second place in A playing North-South. Also at North-South, Jane Holliman and Mary Joyce placed first in C and second in B. Madelyn Jenks and Mona Bell placed third in C, and Lois Jones and Chris Lane tied for sixth in B.

Sidney and Grant Sutton won fourth in C playing East-West, and Shari Krentzel and Kathryn Loseke won fifth in C. Ed Howard and Vince Russo won sixth in A.

In the Friday evening pairs, Jerry Sloan and Vince Nordberg won fifth in B overall. Janice Hollowell and James Gross won second in B and C and fifth in A. Paul Heitzman and Fred Lambert won fourth in B, and Ann Thompson and Jo Andersen tied for fifth place in C.

Playing East-West, Shari Krentzel and Kathryn Loeske won fourth in C. Dorothy Netson and Jeff Nash won third in B, and Sidney and Grant Sutton won third in A and first in B and C. Elle and Bobby Patton won fifth in C. Grant Sutton made Life Master on Friday night with his winning game.

In the Friday Knock Outs, John Hickey’s team beat all comers. Steve Day, Krishna Saha and Sitaraman Sathiamoorth won three matches to take first place in the event.

In the Saturday pairs, playing North-South, L.N. Collier and Vince Nordberg won first overall in C, and Dorothy Netson and Barbara Merriam won second. Sitaraman Sathiamoorth and Don Brennaman won third in C. Dorothy Netson and Barbara Merriam’s showing earned Dorothy her Life Master.

In the Sunday Swiss Teams event, Donna Johnson’s team won three matches to place third in the X bracket. Other team members were Pete Petillo, James Masilamani and Amit Chakrabarti.

¢The Monday Evening Bridge Club played a stratified Mitchell movement at seven and a half tables directed by Virginia Seaver on Feb. 19. Donna Johnson and James Masilamani won first in A at North-South. Virginia Seaver and Al Ballard won second in A, and Grant Sutton and Harry Shaffer won third. Julia and Lester Dalton won first in B.

At East-West, Paul Heitzman and Dave Piro won first in A, followed by Jeff Nash and Jim Stewart who won second in A and first in B. Lynn Hui and Jeane Landry won third in A. Jo Andersen and Pat Musick won first in C and second in B, followed by Ann Thompson and Jane Holliman who won third in B and second in C.
