¢Parents night was the theme for the February meeting of the Lone Star 4-H Club. The meeting was called to order by Debbie Caffey, acting president. Song leaders Karen Ledom, Sarah Plinsky and Steve Williams led members in a variation of “When You’re Happy And You Know It, Clap Your Hands.” Members answered roll call by naming their toothbrush’s color. A thank-you note from the John Metsker family was read. Mr. Metsker was a charter member of the club. He and his wife, Betty, were former leaders of the club, and their children and grandchildren are former and current members.

Leader Mary Berg congratulated members on their performances at County Club Days. Nine members participated, and many are going on to Regional Club Days. Berg thanked LuAnn Metsker, Etha Johnson and Sarah Plinsky for helping as room monitors at club days.

In new business, the club discussed 4-H Sunday. Grant Metsker volunteered to organize the function with the Lone Star Church of the Brethren.

The club sang “Happy Birthday” to Chris Berg and Rowan Plinsky, who celebrated birthdays this month. Lori Queen gave a parliamentary report, and the Plinsky family served snacks.
