Promotions for local police officers were announced by chief William Troelstrup. Lt. Richard Stanwix was elevated to captain and designated assistant chief. Kenneth Harmon was promoted to detective sergeant, Virgil Foust to sergeant from patrolman, Lyle Sutton to detective and Sgt. Verner Newman III to lieutenant.
