Two staff members of Headquarters Counseling Center, Lawrence, attended a suicide-prevention conference addressing issues related to military personnel and families.

Kelly Barnum, assistant director, and Monica Chwojdak, paraprofessional counselor, participated in the Department of Veterans Affairs Evidence-Based Interventions for Suicidal Persons conference in Denver. Presenters included national and regional experts in suicide prevention, with topics including suicide intervention with young adults, American Indians, elders, and returning veterans, plus topics specific to work with military personnel and families.
