Old Home Town – 100 years ago

From the Lawrence Daily World for Feb. 20, 1907: “Much attention is being given in the Legislature about the best way to conduct primary elections in the state. No decisions seem likely soon. : There is a decided prospect that the fast mail train over the Santa Fe that reaches Lawrence about 3 every morning will be discontinued. It brings mail and newspapers and is so needed that Union Pacific is considering taking over those duties. : The Douglas County Good Roads Bill was introduced today in the Legislature and prospects look good for passage and funding for needed local projects. : The Clansman is still at large in the land. Some day the good and decent people of this country will get so tired of these dangerous people they will join hands to wipe out The Clan.”
