John Selk, Lawrence, recently was elected to serve a three-year term on the board of directors for the Kansas Society of Land Surveyors, a 50-year-old professional organization whose members include professional and licensed surveyors, survey technicians and students.

Selk manages five survey teams for Landplan Engineering, a Lawrence-based firm that provides land surveying and other services.

He received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering at Kansas University.
