KU swimmers still third at Big 12s

? Kansas University’s Jenny Short and Danielle Herrmann set school records during the Big 12 Swimming and Diving Championships on Friday.

As a team, the Jayhawks remained in third place with 293.5 points, behind Texas A&M (651) and Texas (633).

Short swam to a KU-record 54.76 in the prelims of the 100-yard backstroke Friday morning. Short finished sixth in the finals.

Herrmann shattered her own 100-yard breaststroke record with a time of 1:02.40, good for a fifth-place finish in Friday’s finals.

Maria Mayrovich placed ninth in the 200 free in 1:49.45.
