Quayle Bible Collection starts spring hours
The Quayle Rare Bible Collection at Baker University begins its Sunday hours for the spring this weekend.
The collection will be open from 1:30 p.m.-4 p.m. Sundays, in addition to 1 p.m.-4 p.m. Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays.
The focus for the spring’s exhibit is “Medieval Words and Beauty” and includes a video of ancient script being written.
Churches present Habitat MusicFest
Musicians from 11 churches and one Kansas University group will gather Sunday for the seventh annual MusicFest to benefit Lawrence Habitat for Humanity.
The musicians represent the covenant churches that support the organization. Chancel choirs, bell choirs, a gospel choir, praise bands and others will participate.
Admission is free to the event, which begins at 7 p.m. at Plymouth Congregational Church, 925 Vt. However, an offering will be taken to go to a “Building on Faith” house, which is built by the covenant churches.
Churches represented will be Centenary United Methodist, First Baptist, First Christian, First Southern Baptist, First United Methodist, Good Shepherd Lutheran, Immanuel Lutheran, Lawrence Church of God, Plymouth Congregational, St. John the Evangelist Catholic and Trinity Lutheran. Sharim Netzim, a group sponsored by the Jewish organization KU Hillel, also will perform.
