KU swimming in third at Big 12 meet

? Kansas University broke a school records and sits in third place after Thursday’s second day of the Big 12 Conference Swimming and Diving Championships.

KU’s 400-yard medley relay team of Jenny Short, Danielle Herrmann, Lauren Bonfe and Maria Mayrovich, placed third in a time of 3:42.54. Short was the first leg of the medley relay, finishing her 100-yard backstroke in a KU-record 55.08 seconds.

KU’s Alicia Casillas placed 10th in 500 free (4:49.67), and Ashley Robinson was 11th in 4:52.19. Herrmann added a sixth-place finish in the 200-yard IM in 2:01.51. Mayrovich was fifth in the 50-yard freestyle (23.17).

In diving, Shelby Noonan took fifth on the three-meter board with a score of 285.95.
