City Leagues: Organizational meetings for city adult spring leagues are slated today, slow-pitch at the Holcom Rec Center and dodgeball at the Community Building. Both sessions will begin at 7 p.m. For information, call 832-7920.

¢Open gyms: The Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department is offering free play volleyball and basketball at two alternate locations this winter. Free play volleyball is available at Cordley Elementary from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays through March 8. Free play basketball will be held at Deerfield Elementary from 6 to 9 p.m. on Fridays through March 23. Free play is open to adults over the age of 18. For more information, call 832-7920.

¢Lawrence Half Marathon: Registrations are being accepted for the Lawrence Half Marathon & 5K (formerly the Raintree Run) that will take place Sunday, April 15. Other events include a one-mile fun run. Proceeds benefit Health Care Access Clinic and the Gibson Huston Love Fund. To register, or to volunteer, go to www.lawrencehalfmarathon.com.
